ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

We are seeking to hire a Humanities Teacher with experience of working in an international school for commencement August 2025. Reporting to: Head of Department.

Purpose of Role

Key Responsibilities
General
  • Follow policies reflecting the school’s commitment to high achievement, amazing learning, and effective feedback.
  • Understand the role of Humanities in contributing to students’ holistic development and preparing them for the modern world.
  • Use data to identify underachievement and implement support plans.
  • Work effectively as a Form Tutor within a Year Team.
Curriculum
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity, and progression for all students, including those with special needs or high ability.
  • Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills through the subject.
  • Set high expectations for progress and achievement.
  • Support the development of independent and collaborative study skills.
  • Engage parents and carers in their child's learning and communicate progress and targets.
Communication, Marketing, and PR
  • Maintain professional communication with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Celebrate and publicize achievements.
  • Assist in organizing school events and contribute to marketing activities.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field with postgraduate teaching qualification.
  • Minimum three years’ full-time teaching experience in Humanities at an international school.

  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
