We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to serve as a strategic bridge between our China Headquarters and Johor offices. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Johor’s business ecosystem, labor regulations, and cultural dynamics, while supporting both manufacturing operations and R&D engineering teams. This role requires end-to-end HR expertise to drive alignment, employee engagement, and compliance across regions.
Key Responsibilities
Cross-Regional Liaison:
- Act as the primary point of contact between China HQ and Johor offices, ensuring seamless communication and policy alignment.
- Translate corporate HR initiatives into locally compliant practices for Johor.
Full HR Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.
- Support manufacturing staff (e.g., technicians) and R&D engineers, addressing unique workforce needs.
Local Compliance & Strategy:
- Leverage deep knowledge of Johor’s labor laws, industrial relations, and market trends to mitigate risks and optimize HR operations.
- Implement localization strategies for talent acquisition and retention.
Employee Development:
- Oversee training programs for manufacturing and technical teams, fostering skills development and cross-functional collaboration.
- Mediate cultural and operational differences between China HQ and Johor teams.
HR Analytics & Reporting:
- Monitor KPIs (attrition, engagement, productivity) and deliver data-driven insights to stakeholders in both regions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years in HR management, with proven exposure to manufacturing and R&D environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Exceptional cross-cultural communication (fluency in English and Malay; Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage for HQ coordination).
- Track record of managing HR operations across geographically dispersed teams.
- In-depth understanding of Johor’s employment landscape and regulatory frameworks.
- Established networks with local institutions.
- Mastery of end-to-end HR functions (e.g., payroll systems, labor law compliance, talent management).
- Ability to engage diverse stakeholders—from factory-floor staff to senior engineers and executives.
