Responsibilities:
- Manage the full spectrum of Human Resource functions, including manpower planning, recruitment, remuneration and benefits management, training and development, grievances handling, counseling, and disciplinary issues.
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct on-the-job training programs, especially during new branch setups, in collaboration with the Operations Department regarding manpower, hiring, and transfers.
- Monitor changes in Human Resource legislation and propose beneficial implementations for both the company and employees.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring applicable HR laws at federal and state levels, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
- Develop and update management guidelines by preparing and recommending HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct audits, surveys, and prepare proposals on staff remuneration and benefits to ensure competitiveness in the local market.
- Prepare and submit HR reports as required, and liaise with government agencies during routine inspections by the Safety and Health Department and Sarawak Labour Department.
- Plan and execute staff development programs, serve as an in-house trainer for soft skills, and establish Customer Service Standards for all employees.
- Manage cashier courtesy at branches, handle customer complaints effectively.
- Collaborate with the Chief Security and Department/Store Heads on investigations related to employee misconduct and disciplinary actions.
- Organize staff welfare activities such as annual dinners, gatherings, and incentive trips.
- Represent the company in Labour Court and Industrial Court disputes, ensuring issues are resolved appropriately.
- Represent the company at Medical Board meetings with SOCSO regarding employee claims.
- Ensure proper compilation and submission of SOCSO medical claims and manage training grants from Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Bhd.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in retail or related fields.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of Sarawak Labour regulations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Open to Malaysian nationals; based at HQ in Kuching, Sarawak.
