Position Summary:
The Learning & Development and Discipline role is responsible for driving employee growth through training programs and ensuring workplace discipline by implementing and monitoring compliance with company policies. The role combines strategic planning for employee development with proactive enforcement of behavioral standards to maintain a productive and harmonious work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learning & Development (L&D):
- Identify training and development needs across departments through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement learning initiatives, workshops, and seminars aligned with company goals.
- Collaborate with external trainers and vendors to deliver specialized training programs.
- Facilitate leadership development, technical skills training, and soft skills improvement for employees.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to high-potential employees.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on feedback.
- Maintain training records and prepare reports for management.
- Organize and conduct internal meetings and training programs, including new employee orientation, to ensure workforce development and continuous learning within the organization.
Discipline and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, fostering a culture of compliance and respect.
- Investigate and address disciplinary issues, complaints, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner.
- Act as a mediator in resolving workplace disputes to maintain a positive and harmonious work environment.
- Maintain records of disciplinary actions, warnings, and investigations.
- Prepare reports on compliance and disciplinary trends.
- Counsel employees on workplace behavior and expectations.
- Provide guidance to supervisors on managing team discipline effectively.
- Support internal and external audits.
General Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in learning, development, and workplace discipline.
- Collaborate with HR and department heads to align L&D and disciplinary strategies with organizational objectives.
- Develop communication strategies to promote training opportunities and policy updates among employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications in HR, Learning & Development (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, or Train-the-Trainer) are an advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in Learning & Development, HR, or employee relations.
- Experience handling employee discipline, investigations, and policy enforcement.
- Strong understanding of L&D methodologies, adult learning principles, and training evaluation techniques.
- Solid knowledge of labor laws and workplace compliance standards.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Conflict resolution and mediation skills with a fair and balanced approach.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
