HR & Payroll Manager | Shah Alam | Up to RM 13,000

Are you a seasoned HR professional who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys building structure from the ground up, and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves? If you're someone who can balance strategy with day-to-day execution—this role is made for you. As HR & Payroll Manager, you’ll lead payroll, compliance, talent management, and drive culture transformation while shaping HR systems and processes.

A highly capable and grounded HR leader who:

1. Has strong HR fundamentals but thrives in dynamic, unstructured environments
2. Knows how to build processes, not just follow them
3. Is empathetic yet firm, able to deal with sensitive HR matters professionally
4. Enjoys being hands-on and takes ownership of outcomes
5. Can navigate internal communication comfortably in Mandarin to engage and liaise with Chinese stakeholders (and some Hokkien)

Responsibilities:

1. Manage end-to-end payroll, compensation, and statutory submissions
2. Oversee recruitment, employee relations, onboarding/offboarding
3. Update and enforce HR policies in compliance with Malaysian labour laws
4. Support organisational restructuring and internal culture transformation
5. Advise leadership on people strategy, performance, and workforce planning

Minimum Requirements:

1. 7+ years in HR and payroll management
2. Strong working knowledge of Malaysian employment regulations
3. Fluent in Mandarin (basic Hokkien an advantage)
4. Able to operate independently in a high-responsibility role
5. Experience in manufacturing/SME environment is a plus
