Purpose of Role

The Manager, HRBP for Malaysia is responsible for managing full facets of HR functions for all employees. This role will contribute to the overall sub-region initiatives and strategies by analyzing business needs from the HR perspective. This role will provide recommendations with the partnership of the management team; develop and promote HR initiatives to further the strategic goals of the business, and provide research, advice, and benchmark material as needed.

Your Impact

  • Responsible for Malaysia HR function to ensure professional and up to date advice and assistance to the employees
  • Support the local leadership team, partners with the business to enable and champion a culture that fully aligns with the core values of the company
  • Support annual people agenda initiatives (Performance Management, Employee Engagement, Executive Development Review, Strategic Workforce Planning, Rewards strategies etc.…)
  • Partner with corporate talent acquisition team, provide leadership for assessment, selection, onboarding process to support all recruitment for all levels of the business
  • Maintain and develop policy and practices for Malaysia office including but not limited to employment, legal and service agreements
  • Provide leadership, support and advice on disciplinary, and grievance cases - including sanctions and terminations of employment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of HR-related experience, with min. 3 years in a management role
  • Industry-specific experience in retail or service is preferred
  • Substantial generalist experience in all functional areas - Employee Relations, Employment Law, Staffing, Compensation, Organizational and Educational development
  • Strong understanding of local labour laws and hiring practices in Malaysia
  • Hands-on and possess the insight to anticipate problems and the sophistication to resolve them
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to the leadership team and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop team members at all levels
  • Possesses a take-charge ability tempered with diplomacy
