About the role
Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager of the Casa del Rio Melaka [ https://casadelrio-melaka.com ] and functionally to the VP Human Resources of HPL Hotels & Resorts [ https://hplhotels.com ] based in Singapore, you are responsible from both a strategic and an operational perspective for supporting achievement of the Hotel’s objectives and goals by the management, administration and practice of the full range of Human Resource functions, paying particular attention to the attraction, acquirement, retention, development and engagement of Human Resources while maintaining brand and Hotel standards for guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction and internal processes.
What you'll be doing
Develop and implement effective HR policies, procedures and initiatives that support the company's business objectives
Oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee relations
Provide guidance and coaching to managers on HR-related matters to ensure consistent people practices across the organisation
Identify and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction and retention
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations and industry standards
Lead and manage the HR team, including providing mentorship and professional development opportunities
Contribute to the development of the company's strategic HR plan and champion its execution
What we're looking for
A minimum of 10 years’ HR experience demonstrating progressive career growth in a reputable organization with a minimum of 2 years as Head of Human Resources. Experience in the hospitality industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
A diploma or the equivalent education or accreditation. A degree in Human Resources Management is preferred.
Hands-on-approach across all HR disciplines including but not limited to Recruitment & Selection, On-Boarding & Socialisation, Performance Management & Development, Progressive Corrective Action & Disciplinary Action, Manpower & Succession Planning, Employee Relations and Personnel Administration.
Legal acumen to understand and apply labour laws and regulations for compliance and/or mitigation of risks.
Strong inter-personal communication and influencing skills capabilities.
Strong command of the English language both written and verbal.
