This is a hands-on HR generalist role within the HR department, with a strong focus on industrial relations, employee relations, and workforce welfare. You will play a key role in managing worker hostels, disciplinary issues, and absenteeism while supporting the overall HR operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with labor laws, driving employee engagement initiatives, and maintaining a harmonious workplace environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage industrial relations and employee relations matters, including handling grievances, disciplinary issues, and fostering positive workplace relationships
- Ensure full compliance with the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act 1967, and social compliance audits related to forced labor indicators
- Oversee the daily operations of male hostels, canteen, and in-house clinic, ensuring safety, hygiene, and employee welfare standards are met
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving tools to address challenges such as absenteeism, turnover, and attrition
- Maintain accurate employee records and support the implementation of HR strategies aligned with company goals
- Organize employee engagement programs and welfare initiatives to strengthen morale and workforce integration, including both local and foreign workers
- Coordinate annual recognition programs such as the Best Employee Awards and Chairman’s Award, promoting a culture of appreciation and continuous improvement
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing/industrial environment with a strong exposure to IR/ER and workforce management
- Solid knowledge of Malaysian labor laws, industrial relations practices, and social compliance requirements
- Experience managing employee welfare facilities such as hostels, canteens, and clinics is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving approahces is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to be based full-time on-site in Sitiawan, Perak
