Purpose of the Position

The Country HR Advisor will provide operational HR support in Malaysia, based in Ipoh, Perak. This is a one-year contract position.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrate commitment to and promote Kalmar values.
  • Ensure HR tools and materials reflect company values and communicate them effectively to employees.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and implementing policies aligned with legislation and corporate guidelines.
  • Build and maintain positive employee relations, support organizational change, and advise managers on performance and disciplinary issues.
  • Support training and development initiatives, including needs analysis and knowledge transfer.
  • Handle industrial relations issues, including misconduct, disciplinary actions, and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate recruitment processes, build talent pools, and monitor subcontractor headcounts.
  • Administer payroll accurately, review payments, and address employee inquiries.
  • Provide HR expertise, manage onboarding and offboarding, and support HR projects.
  • Promote health and safety standards and perform other HR duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Education: Tertiary qualification in HR or related field.

    Experience & Knowledge: Proven experience in a similar role with strong understanding of Malaysian employment law and industrial relations.

    Skills & Competencies: Problem-solving, stakeholder management, customer focus, excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, workplace investigation experience, and policy development skills.
