Job description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, focusing on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction in guest rooms. This role involves supervising staff, inspecting rooms, and ensuring compliance with hotel policies and procedures.

Job Description:
  1. Assist in preparing work schedules for Housekeeping Attendants (Rooms).
  2. Organize assigned work and issue verbal and written instructions to staff to ensure tasks are performed efficiently.
  3. Prepare necessary forms for Housekeeping Attendants to carry out their duties.
  4. Check all occupied, departure, and vacant rooms.
  5. Supervise all Housekeeping Attendants (Rooms) and conduct daily inspections.
  6. Report rooms ready for occupancy to the Housekeeping Office promptly, regardless of occupancy status.
  7. Inspect VIP rooms for special treatment requirements.
  8. Check occupied rooms at 2:00 p.m., especially those with 'Do Not Disturb' signs; contact guests to offer assistance and report any issues, such as guest illness, to senior staff.
  9. Oversee turn-down service starting from 7:00 p.m.
  10. Schedule and supervise room projects or special cleaning tasks.
  11. Collect lost and found items from Housekeeping Attendants.
  12. Ensure staff performance meets hotel standards of quality.
  13. Train staff, including new employees and ongoing training for existing staff to improve performance.
  14. Attend to guest requests and complaints promptly.
  15. Instruct staff on careful handling of furniture, supplies, and equipment, and proper care of walls, floors, carpets, and fixtures.
  16. Maintain order and serviceability of storage areas and equipment used by Housekeeping Attendants.
  17. Control the use of supplies and maintain up-to-date inventory records.
