Resident House Parent – British Summer School (7–20 August 2025)

Global Enrichment Programmes (GEP) at Epsom College in Malaysia

We seek to appoint Resident House Parents for the British Summer School 2025, delivered by Global Enrichment Programmes (GEP) and held at Epsom College in Malaysia from 7 to 20 August 2025.

The programme caters to students aged 8–15 with OPT English levels between pre-A1 and B2, primarily from China, Korea, and Japan.

Whilst the primary responsibility of the Resident House Parent is to ensure the pastoral welfare, care, and supervisionof the campers, successful applicants may also be called upon to support teaching activities from time to time.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential school or boarding environment.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding protocols and boarding house operations.
  • Preferred qualifications and experience:
  • Prior experience as a house parent in a reputable residential school.
  • Experience working in residential holiday camps.
  • Bachelor’s degree with TEFL/TESOL (desirable).
  • Ability to teach music, drama, or art to young learners.
  • Competency in Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean is an advantage.
  • All successful applicants will be subject to Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) or equivalent international background checks.

Camp Details, Duties & Responsibilities

  • Camp Dates: 7 – 20 August 2025
  • Oversee the daily routines and well-being of assigned campers in the boarding house.
  • Ensure health, safety, cleaning, maintenance, and medical arrangements are in place and managed effectively.
  • Liaise with parents/guardians and work collaboratively with the wider staff team.
  • Actively participate in CCA activities, excursions, and inter-house events (sport, music, drama).
