Salary: RM6,000 - RM8,000/month (commensurate with experience)

Ritz Garden Hotel is a well-established midscale property located in the heart of Ipoh. With over 100 rooms, F&B outlets, banquet facilities, and a loyal base of returning guests, we cater to business travelers, families, and group events. As we evolve to meet modern expectations, we are seeking a dynamic Hotel Manager to lead our next phase of growth and service excellence.

Job Summary

As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operations, performance, and guest satisfaction across all departments. You will lead and mentor your team, maintain high service standards, ensure profitability, and act as the face of the hotel to guests, stakeholders, and the community.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited for a candidate with strong operational experience, a proactive mindset, and a deep understanding of the hospitality landscape in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day hotel operations (Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance, Security)
  • Ensure excellent guest experiences and handle service recovery when needed
  • Lead department heads, set KPIs, and drive team performance
  • Monitor occupancy, room rates, and revenue strategies
  • Implement and maintain SOPs across all departments
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and licensing requirements
  • Manage operational costs, budgeting, and P&L accountability
  • Oversee property condition, cleanliness, and preventive maintenance
  • Coordinate with OTA partners, travel agents, and event clients
  • Collaborate with ownership on business strategy and capital improvements
  • Represent the hotel in local tourism boards, business forums, and stakeholder meetings
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years in hotel operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Strong leadership, people management, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a bonus)
  • Strong understanding of Malaysian hotel regulations, licenses, and compliance matters
  • Familiar with PMS systems (e.g., eZee, SiteMinder, or similar)
  • Hands-on, proactive, and guest-oriented leadership style
  • Experience in revenue forecasting, cost control, and service quality audits
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Ipoh, Perak
