Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Executive to oversee the hotel’s building, facilities, machinery, and engineering systems, ensuring safe, efficient, reliable operations to support smooth daily guest experiences.

The role plans preventive and corrective maintenance, inspects rooms and public spaces, coordinates with contractors, maintains records and inventory, and responds promptly to equipment breakdowns and safety issues.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in maintenance, engineering, or facilities management.
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance.
• Possess relevant authorised/competency certificates or other maintenance-related certifications will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for hotel facilities and equipment.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, kitchens, offices, and building facilities.
• Maintain electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, water supply, drainage, and fire protection systems.
• Attend to breakdowns, maintenance complaints, and emergency repairs promptly.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify defects, safety hazards, and potential equipment failures.
• Coordinate maintenance, servicing, repairs, and installation works with contractors and service providers.
• Monitor contractor performance, work quality, safety, and completion timelines.
• Maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, service records, spare parts, and inventory.
• Assist with maintenance budgets, quotations, procurement, renovation, and improvement projects.
• Monitor energy and utility usage and recommend cost‑saving measures.
• Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to minimise disruption to guests.
• Respond to emergency situations such as power failure, water leakage, equipment breakdown, and air‑conditioning failure.
• Prepare maintenance reports.
