Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is hiring a Linen Attendant to manage hospital linen quality, quantity, and labeling. You will inspect incoming linen, sort items for rewash, and ensure accurate weights are recorded.

The role requires orderly storage, strict hygiene, and timely reporting of stock levels. Responsibilities include daily record-keeping, adherence to safety standards, and assisting with inventory checks.

Qualifications

• Minimum PMR/ SPM in any relevant field.
• Basic knowledge of hospital linen management and laundry processes.
• Experience in housekeeping, laundry, or linen services is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Examine linen for quality and cleanliness.
• Sort linen for rewash or condemnation and notify supervisor.
• Store linen on shelves after verifying quantity and type.
• Ensure linen is neatly and systematically arranged.
• Check and validate the weighing process of linen from vendors.
• Record and ensure accurate weights of clean and dirty linen.
• Assist in checking new incoming linens for quality and quantity.
• Label according to hospital specifications and proper tagging.
• Conduct periodic inventory and report stock levels.
• Maintain daily records and par levels for requisitions.
• Ensure curtain cleaning follows the schedule and changes are timely.
• Prepare soiled linen for collection by the laundry vendor.
• Adhere to hospital rules, safety standards, and ISO/JCI requirements.
• Provide on-the-job training for new staff.
