HVAC Engineer

Our client a China listed company that recently expanded into Malaysia. They are a renowned leader in sustainable HVAC solutions and environmental control technology, serving industries worldwide. With a focus on cutting-edge products like energy-efficient air conditioners, precision temperature control systems and advanced dehumidifiers. They support critical sectors including data centers, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, and energy.

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled HVAC Engineer to design, install, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. This role involves creating efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of HVAC principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with on-site project management.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design and Engineering:
  • Design HVAC systems for various building types, considering specifications, building layout, and environmental conditions.
  • Perform load calculations, energy modelling, and system sizing to create efficient HVAC solutions.
  • Select appropriate equipment, components, and ductwork layout for optimal performance.
Installation and Site Management:
  • Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring adherence to design plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify quality and functionality, making adjustments as necessary to ensure system integrity.
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, and other engineers to resolve installation challenges.
System Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing HVAC systems to maximize efficiency and longevity.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to airflow, temperature regulation, and energy consumption.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement best practices for health and safety on site, and maintain thorough documentation of all work performed.
Project Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare project documentation, including design plans, technical specifications, and maintenance schedules.
  • Generate reports detailing system performance, energy savings, and recommendations for improvements or upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in HVAC design, installation, or maintenance, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and load calculation tools.
  • Certifications such as LEED AP, Professional Engineer (PE), or HVAC-R are advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and thermal principles, along with HVAC systems and components.
  • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
