A leading company in the industrial packaging sector is seeking a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Coordinator. The role involves ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards while conducting training and internal audits. The ideal candidate will have relevant educational qualifications and experience in SHEQ, coupled with strong interpersonal skills. Ensure compliance with HSE legislation (e.g., OSHA/ISO 45001/ISO45001).
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Promote safe work practices and behavioral safety culture.
Maintain up-to-date emergency preparedness plans.
Ensure emergency equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
Train staff in emergency response procedures and evacuation protocols.
Ensure compliance with health-related policies such as PPE use, hygiene, ergonomics, and medical surveillance.
Coordinate audiometric test, chemical Health Risk Assessment and noise risk assessment.
Monitor and manage waste disposal, emissions, chemical handling, and other environmental risks.
Conduct environmental impact assessments, audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Maintain environmental records and liaise with local environmental authorities as needed.
Support sustainability initiatives and resource efficiency (e.g., energy and water usage).
Organize and conduct internal audits and site inspections.
Coordinate with external auditors and assist with certification audits (ISO, customer audits, etc.).
Support production in achieving consistency and customer satisfaction
Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
Support non-conformance investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) in a timely manner.
Monitor calibration of equipment, material traceability, and production quality checks.
Prepare reports for regulatory authorities, management, and certification bodies.
Ensure up-to-date licenses, permits, and certifications.
Promote awareness of SHEQ policies through briefings, campaigns, posters, and meetings.
Ensure contractors and visitors are informed and compliant with SHEQ rules.
Ensures compliance with the company's quality management system including ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000.
Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
Follow safety regulations
Performs other duties as assigned by the Company.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least SPM/"O"Level and Diploma or equivalent. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety. Internal auditor certification (desirable).
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia or English
Possess at least 2 - 3 years in SHEQ experience in a manufacturing environment; IBC or plastics manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Skill(s):
Possesses basic knowledge of or experience with quality assurance/control in a manufacturing environment.
Possesses some experience utilizing common lab equipment for quality control testing (e.g., scales, electronic instruments, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of SHEQ regulations and standards.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
Proficient in MS Office and SHEQ management systems.
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 system knowledge.
