Job description

Health, Safety & Environment Officer / Executive
  • Perform or assist in HSE planning, budgeting, inspections, meetings, activities, training, and programs.
  • Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; review, update, and communicate them regularly.
  • Enforce HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures to prevent accidents or incidents.
  • Maintain records and follow up on inspection findings, reports, and workplace safety measures, proposing improvements and corrective actions.
  • Assist in preparing reports on incidents, providing statistical information to management, and preparing relevant reports and checklists for authorities such as DOSH, DOE, etc.
  • Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of the overall HSE System.
  • Promote HSE awareness among all organizational members, including management, supervisors, and workers, to ensure their commitment and involvement.
  • Conduct workplace safety activities, 5S housekeeping, health & hygiene programs, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure regular review and completion of risk assessments for all equipment and operations.
  • Document, investigate, and recommend improvements for all accidents.
  • Liaise with external consultants for training and HSE services.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with HSE legislation.
  • Develop and maintain EMS documentation, including manuals, procedures, records, and hazard management systems (HIRAC).
  • Maintain all OSH documentation properly.
  • Provide regular reports to management and senior leadership on HSE activities.
  • Participate in monthly meetings to report on HSE matters.
  • Provide HSE training to employees at all levels.
  • Ensure safe handling and management of scheduled waste.
  • Enforce safety rules and address violations appropriately.
  • Conduct safety briefings for new employees and regular toolbox talks for production staff.
  • Ensure proper safety signage is in place.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.

Qualifications we seek

Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, or Bachelor Degree in any discipline, with a valid Safety & Health Officer (SHO) Green Book registered with DOSH/JKKP or equivalent.

Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia, English

Strong knowledge of ESH regulations and standards, with familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in health and safety.

Experience with government documentation related to Safety, Health & Environment.

Ability to work independently, be highly motivated, and communicate effectively at all levels.

Leadership and influencing skills for cross-functional teamwork.
