Job description

Job Title: Safety Officer (Company PNC)

Location: Site-Based – Jerantut

Salary Range: RM5,000 – RM5,999

Job Purpose:

To ensure a safe working environment at the construction site by proactively enforcing safety regulations, conducting inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture through training, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
2. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and training programs in compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Investigate all workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, including NIOSH and DOSH requirements.
5. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and other safety-related documentation.
6. Provide safety briefings and training to employees, contractors, and site personnel to enhance awareness and adherence to safety standards.
7. Promote and lead initiatives that support a strong safety culture and continuous improvement in safety performance.
8. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and external parties to ensure safety best practices are followed at all times.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g. NIOSH, DOSH) are highly desirable and will be an added advantage.
• Possess a valid driving license (D/B2).
• Willing to be based at site in Jerantut.
• Strong understanding of Malaysian safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
