Job summary

Public Investment Bank Berhad is seeking a senior risk manager to oversee the bank's risk management function, shaping framework for credit, market, liquidity, operational and climate risks.

You will monitor risk exposures, align with risk appetite and capital adequacy, conduct regular risk assessments and stress tests, and provide guidance to business units on risk mitigation while preparing reports for senior management and regulators.

Qualifications

• Strong degree in accounting/finance/economics/actuarial science/business administration/banking or related qualification.
• Risk professional with 8+ years in risk management in investment banking or capital markets and 3+ years in leadership.
• Sound understanding of risks and controls including stockbroking, corporate finance, treasury and lending.
• Analytical mindset with ability to identify, assess and mitigate key risks; strong leadership and teamwork.

Job description

Responsible for overseeing the Bank's risk management function, including the development and implementation of framework and policies covering credit, market, liquidity, operational and climate-related risks.

Ensures ongoing monitoring of risk exposures and alignment with the Bank's risk appetite, capital adequacy and liquidity requirement.

Conduct regular risk assessments, stress testing and reviews of risk controls across all business activities especially financial and credit risks.

Provide guidance to business units on risk mitigation strategies, promotes risk-aware culture and prepare comprehensive risk reports for Senior Management and regulators.

Requirements

Strong first Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics / Actuarial Science / Business Administration / Banking or related professional qualification.

A Risk Professional with minimum 8 years of experience in risk management in investment banking or capital market industry and with more than 3 years in a leadership level.

Sound understanding of risks and controls including exposure to investment banking activities such as stockbroking, corporate finance and advisory, treasury, commercial lending.

Analytical mindset and ability to identify, assess and mitigate key risks and perform risk and root cause analysis.

Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and able to work effectively in a team environment with good leadership traits.
