This pivotal role involves crafting and executing strategies for sustainable growth, identifying and securing new business ventures, cultivating key partnerships, and overseeing the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the renewable energy landscape, a proven track record in project leadership and business development, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.

We are partnering with a forward-thinking organization in the energy industry to identify a visionary Head of Renewable & Future Energy Initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to lead the company's strategic entry and growth within the dynamic renewable and new energy sectors. You will be instrumental in shaping their sustainable energy future by developing and implementing impactful strategies, forging crucial alliances, and driving the successful development of innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision & Implementation: Define and execute both long-term and short-term strategies for renewable and new energy ventures, aligning them with overarching business goals and identifying pathways for market entry.
  • New Business & Partnerships: Proactively identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities within the renewable energy space. Establish and nurture strong collaborative relationships with key partners to build a robust project pipeline.
  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Oversee the complete project lifecycle, from initial conceptualization and planning through to successful completion and handover, ensuring adherence to stringent quality, safety, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Performance & Optimization: Monitor and enhance project performance through the adoption of best practices, striving for continuous improvement in efficiency and overall outcomes.
  • Financial Oversight & Risk Mitigation: Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation to maximize profitability and cost-effectiveness. Identify and implement strategies to effectively mitigate potential risks associated with renewable energy projects.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry collaborators, and potential investors to champion the company's strategic objectives and enhance its industry standing.
  • Innovation & Sustainability Focus: Champion the exploration of emerging technologies and trends within the renewable energy sector, positioning the company at the forefront of innovation and driving sustainability initiatives aligned with a vision for clean energy solutions.
  • Team & Culture Development: Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment that encourages teamwork, commitment, and a proactive mindset.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide clear direction, motivation, and mentorship to team members, nurturing future leaders and driving breakthrough performance.

Requirements
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
A minimum of 25 years of professional experience within the energy sector, with a significant focus (at least 10 years) on senior leadership roles within renewable energy.
Prior experience within shipyard operations, onboard vessel systems, and commercial/business development is advantageous.
A demonstrable history of successfully leading renewable energy projects from inception to completion, including business development and stakeholder management.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external stakeholders.
