The Head of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the Rehabilitation services within the hospital. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient‑centred rehabilitation care across various services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and other therapeutic disciplines.
Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by immediate superior or hospital management.
Education Minimum Requirement : Diploma or Degree in the relevant professional field (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech & Language Therapy).
Preferred Qualifications and Experience : Degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech & Language Therapy Master Degree Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech & Language Therapy or MBA.
Licensure Possession of a valid Practicing Certificate issued by the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) or equivalent national regulatory body.
Experience Minimum Requirement : Minimum 10 years of post‑registration clinical experience in a hospital setting.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience : 10 years or more of experience in an acute or sub‑acute hospital setting or related field.
Special Skills Required Advanced communication and presentation skills. Able to convey complex clinical information clearly to consultants, multidisciplinary teams, patients, and caregivers. Capable of managing challenging situations, resolving disputes, and leading teams effectively within multidisciplinary settings. Good in critical thinking, clinical problem‑solving and decision‑making. Demonstrates strong analytical ability to assess clinical issues and develop safe, evidence‑based solutions. A leader who is able to coach, mentor and build and empower all junior staff. Skilled in guiding junior staff, facilitating clinical learning, and motivating team members toward high‑performance practice. Coordinates all physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and others to work closely as a collaborative team. Engages patients and staff with empathy, respect, and understanding of diverse cultural and emotional needs.
Upholds professionalism, honesty, and integrity while prioritising patient welfare and dignity. Adaptable, resilient, and remain calm under pressure. Responds effectively changing clinical demands, workload pressures, and complex patient situations.
