Head of Technology Governance & Planning

Your new company
A leading financial services organisation is seeking a seasoned technology governance leader to drive excellence across enterprise-level project delivery and vendor strategy. This organisation is on a mission to transform its technology operating model-placing governance, compliance, and strategic execution at the heart of its transformation roadmap.

Your new role
As the Head of Technology Governance & Planning, you will oversee two critical areas: the Technology Project Management Office (PMO) and Vendor & Contract Management. Your mandate will include shaping project governance frameworks, leading cost-optimised portfolio planning, and ensuring compliance with national regulatory expectations (e.g., RMiT, outsourcing standards).

You'll lead a team of professionals and collaborate closely with stakeholders across IT, Risk, Legal, Finance, and Procurement-ensuring technology initiatives are delivered with accountability, transparency, and strategic alignment.

What you'll need to succeed

• 10+ years' experience in technology project governance, vendor management, or contract governance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  
• Strong familiarity with internal control frameworks (e.g.,COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL)
  
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as insurance, banking, or financial services
  
• Proven ability to navigate cross-functional teams and influence at senior levels
  
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certifications preferred
  
• Proficiency with PMO and contract tools (e.g., ServiceNow PPM, MS Project, JIRA)
