About the Role
The Head of Technology Centre is responsible to oversee the daily operations of AIA Singapore offshore technology center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ensuring a proper planning including but not limited to budget planning/management, strategic initiatives planning/execution, and resources planning/management to support various technology functions of AIA Singapore. The incumbent is required to partner with various technology functions’ head to develop and build a highly functioning teams to support AIA Singapore.
- Define and execute the roadmap for technology Centre in alignment with the technology strategy of AIA Singapore.
- Foster a culture of innovation, agility and excellence to deliver outstanding solutions and platforms. Build competencies and strong engineering culture to enhance team motivation and productivity.
- Oversee day today operations of the technology center, manage budget, optimize resource allocation and forecast the PNL.
- Partner with technology function heads in Singapore on resource and headcount requirements. Plan and implement necessary hiring strategies to meet project and stakeholders’ resource demands.
- Recruit, onboard and train technical resources to support the business. Work with local center human resource services, recruitment agencies and 3rd party employment services to deliver on all recruitment objectives.
- Establish center’s growth plans and operational objectives with team members. Define department goals and objectives that support the strategic plans. Set targets and measurements. Guide and train the team towards growth progress and achievements. Appraise and manage performance, development, coaching and general support of all team members to ensure targets are met.
- Participate in regular management meetings and deliver updates or reports to the stakeholders on technology center’s development, progresses and statuses of various initiatives.
- Ensure team members (local staff) are in compliance with all applicable local codes and regulation governing the operation of the technology center. Ensure safety, productivity, and quality in all delivery operations.
Financial and Non-Financial Measures
Financial:
- Annual budget preparation, regular forecasting, and management of PNL. Ensuring cost effectiveness in the center’s expenditure and capital investments, and well within the approved budget.
Non-Financial:
- Recruitment and retention outcomes, headcount forecasting and demand management, center’s strategic initiatives, capability building, quality of management, etc.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 15 years of experience in technology related field, at least 8 years of experience in managing offshore or global teams.
- Leadership with ability to drive a technology center and software development teams. Proven ability to coach and develop others. Strong people and stakeholders’ management skills.
- Good understanding of organizational and business processes and management. Ability to effectively work and collaborate with different stakeholders in big corporate settings.
- Skills in preparation and management of operating budget and financial forecasting.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. High degree of integrity and honesty in all dealings.
