Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks a CTO-level leader to set strategy, shape the architecture roadmap and prioritise technology investments. You will lead software engineering, QA, DevOps, cloud infrastructure and release management, driving modern engineering practices and observability.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s technology strategy, architecture roadmap and technology investment priorities.
• Lead software engineering, architecture, QA, DevOps, cloud infrastructure and release management.
• Drive modern engineering practices including cloud-native architecture, microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation and observability.
• Lead technology pre-sales and solution development, partnering with the commercial and sales teams to identify client needs, shape technical solutions and support business growth.
• Act as the technical lead for client engagements, solution architecture, RFP/RFQ responses, technical proposals, solution presentations and client workshops.
• Build strong relationships with C-level clients, partners and key stakeholders, serving as a trusted technology advisor throughout the sales and delivery lifecycle.
• Lead the company’s AI, data and automation strategy, taking use cases from POC through to production.
• Build and scale a high-performing engineering, architecture and data organisation.
• Manage technology budgets, vendors, cloud spend, engineering KPIs and overall delivery efficiency.
• Own technology security, cyber resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery and compliance.
• Ensure alignment with PDPA, ISO/IEC 27001 and relevant industry or regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.

12–15 years of technology experience, including 7–10 years in senior technology leadership and proven experience in technology pre-sales.

Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams of 40+ professionals.

Strong technical background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), APIs, microservices, containers/Kubernetes and modern software engineering.

Proven experience leading technical pre-sales, solution architecture, RFP/RFQ responses, technical proposals and client presentations.

Experience delivering enterprise technology projects and/or commercial software products, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, vendor management, solution costing and stakeholder management.

Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders, clients and Board members.
