The Head of Group Security Strategic Business Development is responsible for driving the strategic growth and expansion of the organization’s security business across diverse markets. This role involves identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and developing long-term business plans that align with the company's vision. The role requires a blend of strategic thinking, market analysis, relationship building, and deep knowledge of security industry trends and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Leadership:
Lead the development and execution of strategic business plans for the security division, with a focus on growth, market penetration, and profitability.
Identify new business opportunities and drive initiatives to expand the organization’s market presence in the security sector, both domestically and internationally.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align security business development strategies with overall organizational goals and objectives.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress and success in strategic business development.
Market Analysis & Trend Identification:
Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the security industry to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Provide insights and recommendations to the executive team regarding market dynamics, customer needs, and business development strategies.
Keep the organization informed of relevant regulatory changes and industry standards that may affect business development strategies.
Partnerships & Alliances:
Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, business partners, industry influencers, and government agencies.
Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships and alliances to expand the company’s reach, capabilities, and service offerings.
Cultivate long-term relationships with high-profile clients and stakeholders to ensure sustainable business growth.
Sales & Revenue Generation:
Drive business development efforts to increase sales, revenue, and profitability for the organization’s security solutions and services.
Collaborate with sales teams to identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the security industry.
Lead the development of proposals, presentations, and business cases for key opportunities.
Innovation & Product Development:
Work closely with product development teams to ensure that security offerings meet market demands and stay ahead of industry trends.
Foster a culture of innovation, recommending new products, solutions, and services to differentiate the company in the competitive security market.
Identify gaps in the market and explore new areas for service expansion, such as cybersecurity, physical security, risk management, or specialized solutions.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous learning.
Provide guidance and support to the team in identifying new business opportunities and navigating complex sales cycles.
Ensure the team is well-equipped with the necessary tools, training, and resources to succeed in driving business growth.
Client Relationship Management:
Manage and build strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Oversee the execution of contracts and ensure the successful delivery of security services, fostering repeat business and long-term partnerships.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and forums to increase visibility and network with potential clients.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Develop and manage budgets for business development activities and initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on business development activities, financial performance, and strategic goals.
Monitor financial metrics, ensuring business development efforts contribute positively to overall company revenue growth.
Risk Management:
Identify risks associated with new business opportunities and work with relevant departments to mitigate these risks.
Ensure that all business development activities comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Security Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or relevant certifications preferred).
10+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the security or related industry.
Deep understanding of the security industry, including physical security, cybersecurity, risk management, and industry standards.
Proven track record of driving business growth, managing strategic partnerships, and increasing revenue in a competitive market.
Strong strategic thinking, market analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to think creatively and innovate to address market needs and differentiate offerings in the security space.
Experience with managing large, complex sales cycles and negotiating high-value contracts.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and reporting on business development performance.
