Job description

Head of School (School of Hospitality & Tourism Management)

· To oversee and coordinate teaching, services, and activities for the School.

· To be involved in the planning of new intakes and scheduling of programmes.

· To ensure that all academic staff provide adequate pastoral care to students.

· To monitor student attrition closely and take necessary remedial actions to prevent it.

· To maintain current knowledge of subject areas taught.

· To ensure adequate succession planning for the School.

· To be responsible for overall management of the School in achieving strategic goals, both long-term and short-term.

· To oversee programme development, timetabling, financial management, profitability, and student welfare.

· To perform effectively under stressful and deadline-driven situations.

· To manage and supervise all staff, students, and parents.

· To perform any other duties as required.

Requirements:

· Possesses at least a Master's Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or relevant qualifications.

· Has 3-5 years of experience in education and managerial roles.

· Familiar with MQA requirements and specifications.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Demonstrated leadership and management abilities.

· Ability to work under stress and tight deadlines.

· Capable of managing administrative staff, lecturers, students, and parents effectively.

· Good communication skills and a hands-on approach.
