Job description

As Head of Sales, you will lead and grow our residential solar sales division, driving performance and achieving ambitious growth targets. Your core focus will be managing the sales pipeline, coaching the team, and ensuring consistent results.

You will directly manage and develop the Sales team, providing them with the tools, training, and support needed to excel. While your primary role is strategic leadership, youll also step in to support key sales activities from advisory calls to site visits and deal closures.

Reporting to the Country Manager, this high-impact role works closely with Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams. You will also lead initiatives to improve conversion rates, shorten sales cycles, and drive rooftop solar adoption in Malaysia.

  • Sales Pipeline Ownership:Oversee the entire sales funnel across Malaysia, from lead qualification todeal closure, ensuring strong performance against KPIs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to consistently exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Hiring & Onboarding: Recruit and train new sales hires, equipping them with the necessary product knowledge, sales processes, and CRM proficiency.
  • Sales Enablement: Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to create tools, materials, and workflows that improve efficiency and conversion rates.
  • Growth Initiatives: Drive lead generation through outbound campaigns, referral programs, and strategic local partnerships.
  • Customer Engagement: Provide hands-on support during key stages of the sales process customer calls, site visits, and documentation to close high-value deals.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Align with regional and functional teams to ensure consistent strategy, messaging, and scalable operations.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles with at least 2 years of experience leading high-performing, target-driven sales teams
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Hands-on experience managing a sales pipeline or contributing to a P&L
  • Preferably experienced in fast-paced, high-growth startups or tech enabled businesses.
  • Industry exposure in consumer services, financial services, real estate, or renewable energy is a plus
  • Strong leadership and coaching ability to train, motivate, and scale a team
  • Results-driven, proactive, and highly motivated with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys engaging with homeowners and solving real-world problems.
  • Familiar with CRM tools and sales reporting
  • Flexible to work non-standard hours or travel for customer site visits
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Melayu, both written and spoken
  • Adaptable and quick to learn in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
