Overview
REPORTING TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & GROUP CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE : The Head of Operations is responsible for overseeing sales and operational functions to ensure high productivity, sustainable revenue growth, and increased operational efficiency. This role includes strategic planning, budgeting, performance monitoring, and team leadership. Additionally, the Head of Operations will play a key role in business planning and driving expansion initiatives aligned with the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute operational strategies and sales plans aligned with company objectives and KPIs.
- Monitor daily business activities, identify gaps, and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead sales planning initiatives to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Identify new market opportunities and lead efforts to expand the company’s market footprint.
- Evaluate potential growth areas (markets, products, services) and recommend expansion strategies.
- Establish operational infrastructure and capabilities to support expansion (e.g., new branches, service coverage, etc.)
- Manage operating costs effectively and track ROI on key projects and initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and reporting standards.
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery, high quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure high customer satisfaction and retention.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, quality standards, and industry regulations.
- Promote ethical sales and operational practices across all teams.
- Prepare operational and performance reports for executive leadership and board-level review.
- Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Executive Director / Group Chief Operating Officer.
Requirements
Qualification and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant industry, with proven leadership in operations and business development.
Knowledge :
- In-depth knowledge of generator systems (diesel/gas/standby/emergency), their application installation, commission, maintenance and after-sales service.
- Knowledge in project cost control, procurement and technical specification of generators, air compressor (diesel/gas/standby/emergency) and relators equipment / spare parts.
Skills :
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to sell technical products and services.
- Strong business management and commercial acumen.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Resilient under pressure and open to constructive feedback.
