Job Description

The Role

As Head of Marketing, Malaysia, you will lead the development and execution of the marketing strategy for Jobstreet, leading all aspects of both B2C (candidates) and B2B (hirers) segments. You’ll be responsible for strengthening the brand, growing customer engagement, and delivering against key commercial objectives—acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.

Lead a targeted marketing strategy based on customer insights and business goals, working with regional teams for coordinated, impactful campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

MARKETING EXPERTISE

  • Lead the strategic marketing direction for Jobstreet Malaysia, incorporating local market insights, customer needs and business objectives
  • Lead the full funnel country marketing plan to deliver on brand, lead generation, acquisition, usage, and retention objectives across all customer segments
  • Build and foster the Jobstreet brand in Malaysia, reinforcing our positioning locally, and actively seeking out opportunities to push the brand forward in Malaysia
  • Lead the design and implementation of local marketing strategies for candidate & hirer segments, social media presence, PR activities, partnerships, and engagement through activation
  • Build and implement segment-specific content for key customer events, including thought leadership and industry insights, product demos, local employment trends, and data
  • Collaborate with the marketing channel teams to review, define, and optimize targeted media and comms strategies for all segments
  • Handle incident/mandatory communications, working closely with the customer engagement teams

Team leadership

  • Guide and inspire a marketing team, helping them achieve goals, lead resources, and offer mentorship.
  • Engage with the country leadership team to deeply understand business objectives and align marketing strategies to support and accelerate growth

Commercial competence

  • Lead allocated budget and provide accurate and timely forecasting and reconciliations
  • Supervise and report on country marketing performance and initiatives against companywide marketing and company objectives

Country knowledge

  • Develop detailed understanding of the local market by accurately analyzing competition and customer behavior. Use insights to craft localized strategies and recommendations to meet company goals.
  • Represent Malaysia in key business forums, gathering local insights and trends for global marketing.

Cross functional

  • Partner with sales, growth, product marketing, commercial excellence, and product teams to trial, optimize, and implement customer offers and partner marketing initiatives
  • Build strong connections with collaborators from Marketing, Product, AI, Customer Service, Sales, Corporate & Internal Communications, PR, and Commercial Excellence, showcasing support for Malaysia country and segment marketing.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree or MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of B2B and B2C experience, with the majority based in Malaysia and preferably within a digital business
  • Bring deep expertise across all marketing channels and truly master your specialty area
  • Make smart business decisions - creating strategies that drive return on investment while effectively running budgets
  • Lead and inspire our diverse marketing team, rolling up your sleeves when needed
  • Exercise excellent judgment when handling projects within marketing and across other departments
  • Balance multiple priorities while keeping projects on track, adapting quickly when circumstances change
  • Solve problems by extracting significant insights from available data

  • Work collaboratively with excellent interpersonal skills to be a great partner at all levels - including senior leaders, cross-departmental teams, and external partners

Based in the Jobstreet office in Kuala Lumpur, this role supervises a team of marketing professionals. It reports to the Head of Asia Marketing and is part of the APAC Marketing Team, spanning Australia and Southeast Asia.
