Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Leadership and Innovation
- Lead the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the curriculum within the department to align with the Cambridge curriculum, while incorporating elements that address specific student needs and current educational trends.
- Drive the integration of innovative teaching practices and technologies to enhance learning outcomes and engagement.
- Oversee the adaptation of the curriculum to ensure the inclusion of cross-curricular links, wherever applicable and approved by the Principal, to ensure that the curriculum is both robust and comprehensive.
Data-Driven Decision Making and Assessment
- Implement and refine systems for the collection, analysis, and use of student performance data to inform teaching practices, curriculum adjustments, and student support strategies.
- Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of formative and summative assessments within the department, aligning them with Cambridge standards and benchmarks.
- Lead the department in using data to identify gaps in learning, setting targets for improvement, and tracking progress towards these goals.
Professional Development and Teaching Excellence
- Identify and facilitate professional development opportunities for department staff, focusing on areas such as curriculum knowledge, pedagogical skills, and the use of educational technology
- Conduct and promote micro-teaching sessions and peer observations within the department to foster a culture of continuous learning and teaching excellence.
- Mentor and support new and existing staff in developing their teaching practice and achieving their professional goals.
Resource Management
- Ensure that all departmental resources, including textbooks, digital resources, and teaching aids, are up-to-date, accessible, and effectively utilized to support teaching and learning.
- Manage the departmental budget, allocating funds judiciously for resources, professional development, and other departmental needs, ensuring maximum impact on student learning.
Student Engagement and Wellbeing
- Champion strategies that promote student engagement and active participation in the learning process, ensuring that lessons are differentiated to meet the diverse needs of high achievers, middle achievers, and those needing additional support.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor and support student wellbeing, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment conducive to learning for all students.
Leadership, Collaboration and Communication
- Exhibit strong leadership by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and leading by example to foster a positive and collaborative departmental culture.
- Facilitate regular department meetings to discuss student progress, curriculum developments, and strategic planning.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and school leadership, ensuring transparency and collaboration in all departmental initiatives.
Strategic Planning and Accountability
- Develop and implement a detailed action plan with timelines for all major projects and initiatives within the department, including curriculum revision, professional development programs, and resource acquisition.
- Periodically report on departmental achievements, challenges, and contributions towards enhancing curriculum standards and teacher competency to school leadership, providing a clear and accountable record of departmental progress.

Requirements
- Minimum a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in respective subjects
- Candidate with experience in IGCSE will have an advantage.
- Candidate must be able to join on December 2026 final week for training purpose.
