The Opportunity:
On behalf of our esteemed client, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Maintenance Engineering to lead their maintenance operations and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of their manufacturing assets. This critical role will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies, managing a team of engineers and technicians, and driving continuous improvement in equipment uptime and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Maintenance Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, and corrective) to maximize equipment uptime, extend asset life, and minimize operational disruptions.
Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Foster a culture of safety, continuous learning, and accountability within the department.
Operational Reliability: Ensure the reliability and efficiency of all manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facilities. Implement best practices for troubleshooting, repair, and systematic problem-solving.
Budget Management: Manage the maintenance department's budget, controlling costs related to spare parts, labor, and external services while ensuring necessary resources are available.
CMMS Management: Oversee the effective utilization and continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order management, scheduling, spare parts inventory, and historical data analysis.
Spare Parts & Inventory: Optimize spare parts inventory management to ensure critical components are readily available while minimizing holding costs.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards. Promote a strong safety culture within the team.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and other reliability engineering techniques to prevent recurrence of failures and enhance equipment performance.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to support new equipment installations, process improvements, and overall operational goals.
Performance Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance operations, regularly reporting on equipment availability, mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance costs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CMRP) preferred.
Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive experience in maintenance and reliability engineering roles within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial capacity.
Proven expertise in developing and implementing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
Strong knowledge of CMMS systems and their application in maintenance management.
Demonstrated understanding of reliability engineering principles, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Experience with various types of manufacturing equipment and systems (e.g., PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation).
Exceptional leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in relevant software, including CMMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
