About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing Renewable Energy company based in Malaysia, focused on large-scale solar farm development and clean energy solutions. As they embark on a company-wide digital transformation, they are seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Technology to lead the creation and execution of our end-to-end digital roadmap, with a strong focus on innovation, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Role Overview

As the Head of Technology, you will be a core member of the leadership team, responsible for defining and implementing the digital transformation strategy for our solar farm operations. You will play a critical role in shaping our technological future, from digital infrastructure to data-driven decision-making. This includes building and leading a team of technologists, engaging with investors, and ensuring our systems and platforms are aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Technology Leadership

• Develop and execute a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Define short- and long-term technology strategies to optimize operations, improve energy yield, and enhance decision-making across the solar farm lifecycle.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to the MD and Board on all technology-related matters.

2. Team Building & Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing technology team covering software development, data science, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and cloud engineering.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.

3. Digital Transformation

• Spearhead the implementation of advanced digital technologies, including AI, IoT, cloud computing, predictive maintenance, and data analytics.
• Modernize existing infrastructure and integrate smart systems to enable real-time monitoring, forecasting, and automation across solar operations.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

• Present digital strategies, progress updates, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders including investors, regulators, and strategic partners.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Finance, etc.) to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with business needs.

5. Risk Management & Cybersecurity

• Oversee the design and enforcement of robust cybersecurity practices and disaster recovery strategies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and data protection across all digital systems.

6. Vendor & Partner Management

• Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors, technology partners, and consultants.
• Lead procurement and integration of digital platforms, ensuring value for investment.
