Head of HR, Malaysia, Thailand & Vietnam

Overview: The HRBP supports business leaders in achieving objectives by managing talent strategies, driving organizational effectiveness and fostering high-performing cultures. Works closely with the VP of Global Business Services (GBS), GBS Leadership team (LT) and key stakeholders to implement innovative solutions for effective and efficient operations. Acts as a strategic partner for Country Business Leaders and their LTs for the Commercial teams across Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand, supporting growth via implementation of Commercial Excellence principles.

Job Description

Organizational Effectiveness & Development
  • Provide strategic HR leadership to leaders and teams, identifying and resolving talent gaps impacting business outcomes.
  • Lead organizational capability and capacity analysis, strategic workforce planning, organization design, associate engagement and change initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to client leaders, supporting their leadership development and career planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement through change and transformation excellence, including business case development, stakeholder identification, process mapping, communications and team building.
  • Conduct team development strategies to improve performance and address team dynamics.
Talent Management & Acquisition
  • Lead transformation change efforts, partnering with executive leaders and senior HR colleagues on organizational development and design.
  • Guide leaders to fill capability gaps through talent acquisition and development aligned with GBS & Commercial strategies.
  • Ensure strong succession pipelines for critical roles and participate in interview teams for senior and critical positions.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management and Talent Acquisition teams to align top talent to business priorities, ensuring inclusion and diversity outcomes.
  • Support goal setting, alignment, and performance management cycles to drive high-performance culture.

  • Provide consultative guidance for compensation, rewards and facilitate compensation reviews.
  • Benchmark job offers and retention measures based on strategic needs.
  • Create a culture of recognition centered around BD’s way of working, values and mindset.
Associate Engagement & Relations
  • Provide strategic HR advisory support for complex HR issues and activities.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, root causes, and actions to improve engagement, retention, inclusion and capabilities.
  • Address employee relations challenges proactively and collaborate with employee relations COE for trend analysis and countermeasures.
Requirements
  • Experience in HR business partnering within multinational corporations, preferably in GBS and commercial functions.
  • Strong understanding of GBS operations, industry trends and new technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change, process improvement and operating model design.
  • Excellent planning, organization and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels and build confidence and trust.
  • Knowledge of project management, continuous improvement and LEAN Six Sigma principles is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration with minimum 15 yrs of relevant HR experience.
  • Experience in managing HR in Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformation and support business growth through effective HR strategies.
