Job description

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Finance to lead and manage our financial strategy, operations, and regulatory compliance. This role is critical in driving financial excellence, supporting business growth, and ensuring full alignment with regulatory requirements. Candidates with fintech, remittance, or digital finance exposure are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Financial Leadership
2. Develop and execute the company's overall financial strategy to support sustainable growth and profitability.
3. Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning, business expansion, and decision-making.
4. Provide clear financial insights, analysis, and reporting to the Board of Directors and key stakeholders.
5. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and performance monitoring.
6. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic financial plans.
7. Monitor and optimize fund management, treasury activities, and operational cost control.
8. Manage investment strategies and financial risk mitigation initiatives.

Regulatory Reporting & Statutory Compliance

1. Ensure full compliance with Labuan FSA and BNM regulatory requirements.
2. Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to Labuan FSA and BNM.
3. Liaise with LHDN, IRB Labuan, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and SST authorities for all statutory and tax submissions.
4. Manage corporate and employee tax matters including annual tax returns and EA/E forms.

Audit, Governance & Internal Controls

1. Coordinate internal and external audits; ensure timely and complete provision of documents.
2. Maintain compliance with financial, HR, and tax regulations, updating internal policies as needed.
3. Implement effective internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
4. Lead and mentor the finance team to build a high-performance, growth-oriented culture.
5. Ensure continuous improvement of finance and HR processes in line with business needs and regulatory changes.

Payroll & Claims Administration

1. Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing including expatriate payroll where applicable.
2. Ensure compliance with statutory deductions and reporting (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, MTD/PCB).
3. Oversee local and cross-border payment workflows, fund settlements, and reconciliations.
4. Monitor exposure, limits, and operational risks in payment processing systems.
5. Liaise with remittance providers, payment gateways, and ensure adherence to AMLA and remittance regulations.
6. Support financial functions involving crypto assets, wallets, blockchain-based transactions, and stay current with regulatory guidelines from BNM and Labuan FSA.

Skills & Experiences

1. Minimum 8 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
3. Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or CIMA) are advantageous.
4. Strong technical knowledge in financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
5. Proven experience with BNM reporting and statutory requirements in Malaysia.
6. Familiarity with blockchain, digital finance, and crypto asset operations is a plus.
7. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
8. Detail-oriented, strategic thinker with strong decision-making abilities.
