Job summary

Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad is seeking a Senior Data Platform Lead to drive end-to-end delivery of the Data Lake, enterprise data model, and curated data services powering analytics, AI, and regulatory reporting. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of data engineers and contractors, partnering with Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, and external vendors.

The role requires a strong track record in enterprise data platforms, deep Azure Data Stack skills, and proven leadership

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering/data platform roles, with at least 4 years in people leadership.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale data platforms (data lake/lakehouse/EDW) in regulated industries.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Data Stack technologies and data governance tooling.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams including contractors and on/offshore resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of data engineers and contingent specialists.
• Own the roadmap, design, build, and operations of the Data Lake platform on Azure Databricks and related stacks.
• Partner with Data Governance, Enterprise Architecture, and regulators on governance and compliance.
• Ensure business continuity, risk management, and incident response for data platforms.
• Manage vendor/sourcing activities and contingent workforce, including JD preparation and interview leadership.
