Head of Application - Life & Health Insurance
Position Summary
In line with Allianz Technology's aim to be a truly customer and product-centric organization, the Applications functional area ensures end-to-end responsibility for all applications within its scope. These applications are clustered in Verticals responsible for build, roll-out, and maintenance/running.
This regional role will lead and oversee the build, roll-out, and maintenance of applications by creating business solutions. The role is responsible for the full application lifecycle to support strategic transformation goals.
What you do
- Direct the large-scale, region-wide program covering the full lifecycle, including design, development, and implementation of the Allianz IT platform across countries, aiming for strategic transformation goals. Collaborate with extended project resources, including different entities and external vendors.
- Develop and drive the implementation roadmap jointly created with countries, regional and global leads, functional leads, and delivery partners.
- Translate company strategies, such as the Allianz Customer Model and application modernization, into design and implementation strategies to ensure alignment with strategic outlook and resource optimization.
- Ensure effective senior stakeholder engagement and communication, providing regular reports in senior steering forums, including global leadership, regional leadership, and local steering committees.
- Develop an industrialized approach across the region, aligned with the global model, to standardize onboarding, solutions, and delivery of IT applications, maximizing economies of scale and skill.
- Ensure service management delivery, meeting service levels, continuous improvement, and adherence to AZ technology standards.
- Manage financial governance for the applications under responsibility.
What you bring
- Degree in information technology or a comparable technical qualification.
- Experience working in a matrix organization with a proven track record of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in multi-national organizations, preferably in application development, maintenance, and production support teams within Life and Health insurance or Shared Services/Service Provider organizations.
- Strong experience in managing project financials, demand and change management, distributed teams, KPI tracking, and reporting within complex matrix organizations.
- Goal-oriented self-starter capable of working independently and in teams. Experienced in managing multicultural, geographically dispersed teams through both direct and influence management.
- Customer-centric mindset with transparent, fact-based collaboration.
