Job description

The Head of Accounting will oversee the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and driving strategic initiatives. This leadership role requires strong technical and managerial expertise.

Description

Oversee Monthly & Quarterly Financial Reporting: Manage timely and accurate month-end and quarterly closing for the SEA Region, including managerial and statutory reporting, with a focus on reconciling flash-to-actual differences and reviewing post-closing reports like AR analysis and FX exposure.

Manage Financial Consolidation and Statements: Direct quarterly regional consolidation, ensuring high-quality financial statement reviews, intercompany reconciliations, and tax schedules, as well as preparing regional consolidation presentations with key financial analysis.

Lead Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, coordinating audit scope, planning, and year-end processes to ensure timely completion of financial statements for both group and local statutory filings, while supporting all audit queries.

Provide Regional Financial Leadership: Act as the regional head for all accounting activities, offering leadership and technical guidance, implementing accounting policies and standards, and ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Support M&A and New Business Ventures: Offer expert advice and support on financial aspects of new business initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other technical accounting topics relevant to regional operations.

Profile

A successful Head of Accounting should have:

  • A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Proven expertise in managing accounting and finance functions in the trading / manufacturing / heavy industrial sector.
  • Regional exposure within APAC or SEA is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
