Job Description

• Ensure compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards, and procedures through training, supervision, follow-up, and hands-on management.

• Implement beverage policies and procedures across the property.

• Manage compliance with all applicable beverage laws.

• Understand beverage control including inventory management, portion control, cost control, sales analysis, issue & returns, and period-end inventory.

• Monitor adherence to beverage control policies and procedures.

• Attend pre- and post-convention meetings as needed to understand group needs.

• Understand budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in financial management.

• Manage departmental expenses to meet or exceed budget goals.

• Maintain food handling and sanitation standards.

• Manage inventories according to budget and business levels.

• Assist in developing menus and promotions as needed.

• Train staff on beverage control policies and procedures.

• Supervise staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.

• Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters.

• Communicate critical information regarding events to the beverage staff.

• Provide excellent customer service and interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.

• Respond effectively to guest problems and complaints.

• Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service.

• Emphasize guest satisfaction in departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement.

• Provide feedback to improve service performance.

• Review guest feedback and satisfaction results with employees.

• Support departmental orientation and training for new hires.

• Participate in developing and implementing corrective action plans.

Qualifications

• College Diploma in Hotel Management or related field.
