JOB SUMMARY
To lead and support the due diligence and evaluation of external fund managers to ensure high-quality selection and governance. Assess managers' investment approach, performance, risk controls, and operations through both qualitative and quantitative analysis. Evaluate existing managers regularly and provide recommendations on hiring, retaining, or terminating managers based on alignment with mandate objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement due diligence frameworks and methodologies (qualitative and quantitative analysis) aligned with investment objectives and risk tolerance.
- Lead the planning and execution of networking engagements with prospective fund managers and market intelligence providers to support strategic sourcing and market insights.
- Oversee relationship-building initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational investment objectives.
- Conduct in-depth due diligence assessments through meetings (virtual or on-site) with fund managers and investment teams to evaluate strategy and operational capabilities.
- Review and assess DDQs, RFPs, and related materials to support the appointment of new external fund managers and consultants for due diligence exercises.
- Conducting deep quantitative and qualitative manager assessments.
- Ensure the due diligence framework reflects current best practices, evolving regulatory standards, and internal investment governance.
- Supervise and manage the team members in Manager Evaluation Unit as well as monitor task performed by team members.
- Support governance requirements, including compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Present due diligence findings to senior management and investment committees, providing clear, actionable insights.
- Stay informed of trends in asset management, fund flows, product innovation, and competitive positioning.
- Maintain a pipeline of high-potential managers across various strategies and geographies.
- Perform other duties as required by the Head of Section and Head of Department from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Malaysia citizen.
- Obtain a pass in Bahasa Malaysia, including oral test in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.
- Possess a Bachelor Degree or Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Accounting, Business Management, Banking, Finance/Investment or equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government from any local or overseas higher learning institutions.
- Candidates with at least 10 years work experience in investment due diligence, manager research, multi-manager investing, risk analysis, operational due diligence and governance oversight.
- Independent, highly disciplined, prioritizes work, mature and able to achieve the desired performance.
