About the Role:
The Head of Financing and Credit Cards is responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the Bank's financing and credit card portfolio, adhering strictly to Shariah principles. This role encompasses overseeing Personal Financing (PF) for government employees, Corporate Banking financing, Asset-based financing, and the Islamic Credit Card business. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative strategies, managing risk effectively, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Shariah guidelines, and driving business development to achieve the Bank's objectives.
What will you do:
Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Develop and implement the overall strategy and business plans for the Financing and Credit Cards department in alignment with the Bank's strategic goals and Shariah principles.
- Identify market opportunities, analyze competitive landscapes, and anticipate future trends in Islamic financing and credit card products.
- Set clear performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each financing segment (PF Government, Corporate Banking, Assets) and Islamic Credit Cards.
- Drive innovation in product development and service delivery to enhance customer experience and maintain a competitive edge.
- Contribute to the overall strategic planning of the Bank as a member of the senior management team.
Business Development and Growth
- Lead and direct the business development efforts for all financing segments and Islamic Credit Cards to achieve targeted growth in portfolio size, revenue, and market share.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, corporate clients, and potential partners.
- Explore new channels and partnerships to expand the reach and distribution of financing and credit card products.
- Oversee the development and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns to drive product adoption and customer acquisition.
Product Management and Development
- Oversee the development, enhancement, and management of a comprehensive suite of Shariah-compliant financing products (PF Government, Corporate Banking, Assets) and Islamic Credit Card offerings.
- Ensure all products are competitive, meet customer needs, and comply with relevant regulatory and Shariah requirements.
- Monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Shariah Advisory, Legal, Operations) in the product development and approval processes.
Risk Management and Credit Quality
- Establish and maintain robust credit policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks for all financing and credit card portfolios, adhering to Shariah guidelines.
- Oversee the credit assessment process, ensuring thorough due diligence and adherence to established credit approval authorities.
- Monitor portfolio performance, identify potential risks and early warning signals, and implement proactive measures to mitigate credit losses.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal guidelines related to credit risk management.
Operational Efficiency and Service Delivery
- Ensure efficient and effective operational processes for the origination, processing, disbursement, and servicing of financing and credit card facilities.
- Implement and leverage technology solutions to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve customer service.
- Monitor service quality standards and implement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with operations and technology teams to optimize processes and resolve operational issues.
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may require performing other duties as assigned by the Bank’s management.
Skills and experience you possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or any relevant field.
- A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIFP, ACIIF) would be an added advantage.
- Possess a minimum of 10 years' working experience in banking, with a significant focus on financing (including PF Government, Corporate Banking, and Asset-based financing) and credit cards.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and growing financing and credit card portfolios, preferably within an Islamic banking environment in Malaysia.
- Strong understanding of Shariah principles related to financing and credit cards.
- In-depth knowledge of the Malaysian banking regulations and guidelines.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and drive business growth.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, risk, and legal.
