Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Business Growth: Shape and drive client solutions strategies that align with OPUS Consultants' overall business goals. Lead the development and execution of marketing and sales plans to achieve new book orders, revenue, and profitability targets across all business portfolios.
  • Business Opportunity Identification: Lead high-impact business opportunity assessments through market feasibility studies, competitor analysis, and strategic insights to identify, evaluate, and capture new growth areas locally and regionally, including East Malaysia and international markets.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and implement client engagement strategies to build and sustain strong relationships with key accounts and prospective clients, enhancing long-term business value and customer loyalty.
  • Proposal & Tender Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of strategic business proposals, pre-qualifications, and tenders in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with client requirements and maximising success rates.
  • Market & Business Intelligence: Establish a strong market intelligence function to track trends, competitive dynamics, and business environments. Use insights to guide decision-making, strengthen value propositions, and enhance proposal quality.
  • Portfolio & Pipeline Management: Define and manage a future-focused business pipeline, tracking progress and aligning opportunities with strategic goals. Drive diversification of services and expansion of OPUS Consultants' business portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Lead stakeholder engagement efforts, including government bodies, industry players, and strategic partners to support business growth and maintain market relevance.
  • Performance Monitoring & Risk Assessment: Monitor the performance of client solutions initiatives, conduct regular reviews, and lead risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential business threats that may affect earnings or delivery.
  • Functional Excellence & Process Leadership: Establish and enhance frameworks, tools, and processes for the Client Solutions function to ensure consistent, high-impact execution and value creation across business units.
  • Leadership & Talent Development: Promote a performance-driven culture by developing capabilities within the Client Solutions team. Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to enhance functional effectiveness and support organisational excellence.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business studies, engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in marketing/client solutions/project development/business development, relationship building, and commercial proposals; preferably in the civil engineering/infrastructure industry.
  • Proficient in conducting thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and potential areas for growth.
  • Excellent networking skills to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, industry partners, and government bodies.
  • Strong skills to effectively pitch and negotiate with potential clients, understanding their needs, and tailoring solutions that align with the company's services.
