Job Summary
The person will be in-charge of the direct and indirect investments of the Function. As the team lead, he will need to ensure the proposals are properly prepared and presented to the various approving authorities and meet the standards required for such purpose.
The investment thesis must be defendable and the business plan carried out throughout the tenure of the investment.
Work closely with the Strategic Investments team to identify partners and build value through investing for direct investments.

Job Description

1. Establish financial targets for each investment and the Fund(s).
2. Maximize investment value through active participation.
3. Provide a good investment thesis for the approving authority with clear targets, value creation and exit plans.
4. Identify and propose potential partnership or acquisition.
5. Collaborate with them to deploy our capital in the most efficient way and aligned to our strategic mandate.
6. Build strategic targets and value creation for investee companies.
7. Work closely with owners to reach the objective of the investment.
8. Attend board and exco meetings of the investee companies.
9. Comply with the Group’s internal and external compliance and regulation.
10. Highlight potential breaches or possible conflicts.
11. Highlight potential red flags for the investee companies and Fund(s).
12. Keep up-to-date with the latest industry and financial trends.
13. Understand Companies Act and how it affects the investments.
14. Understand legal agreements.
15. Work closely with Group Strategy to understand our short-term and medium-term goals.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 10 years in the financial industry.
2. Experience in investment and strategy would be an added advantage.
3. Has an existing business network.
4. Had led a team previously.
5. Need to balance between big picture and micro issues.
6. Critical thinking.
7. Able to articulate ideas clearly.
8. Able to identify issues within an industry and company.
9. Able to find deals and build a network.
10. Able to work with owners and entrepreneurs.
