Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a TIG welder to join our manufacturing team. You will perform GTAW welding on stainless steel components, read engineering drawings and welding symbols, and prepare joints for welding with precise technique.

The role requires 1–3 years of TIG welding experience, familiarity with quality standards, and the ability to operate welding equipment safely. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/SKM or equivalent technical qualification.
• 1–3 years TIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Valid TIG Welding Certification (preferred).
• Proficient in TIG (GTAW) welding techniques.
• AWS, ASME or equivalent welding qualification is an added advantage.
• Experience welding stainless steel components and fabrications.
• Able to read engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with welding quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Skilled in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, tapes and weld gauges.
• Fresh graduates in Certificate or Diploma are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel components per procedures.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and welding symbols.
• Prepare materials, clean, align and fit joints for welding.
• Set up TIG equipment and monitor welding parameters.
• Produce high-quality welds meeting customer specs and standards.
• Visually inspect welds and identify defects for repair.
• Carry out weld repairs while maintaining quality requirements.
• Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and weld quality.
• Maintain equipment and uphold safety and PPE rules.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce defects.

Responsibility

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel components, weldments, and assemblies according to approved welding procedures and work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications.
• Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, fitting, alignment, and joint preparation.
• Set up and operate TIG welding equipment and ensure correct welding parameters are used.
• Produce high-quality welds that meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Perform visual inspection of completed welds and identify defects requiring repair or rework.
• Carry out weld repairs as required while maintaining product quality requirements.
• Use measuring tools and gauges to verify dimensions and weld quality.
• Maintain welding equipment and perform routine housekeeping and basic preventive maintenance.
• Comply with all safety, health, environmental, and PPE requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and reduce welding defects.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve welding-related issues.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
