Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OSHA 1994 and ISO 14001 is essential.

We are now looking for an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager. This position is located in Johor Bahru and will report to Marek Sebastian Jagielski, General Manager, Johor Bahru Factory.

What you will do

  1. Advise the organization on Safety, Health and Environmental related issues and its compliance with local regulations and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines such as DOSH, DOE, Ministry of Health, Fire and Rescue Department, and other relevant authorities.
  2. Management representative for ISO 14001 System.
  3. Management representative for ISO 45001 System.
  4. Member of Malaysia Factory Management Team.
  5. Member of Malaysia Factory Steering Meeting Team (if applicable).
  6. Secretary for Safety and Health Committee in Malaysia.
  7. APAC representative for UPM Raflatac OHS Development team.
  8. Reporting the OHS performance of the company and SEA terminals to UPM OHS Team.
  9. Coordinate the implementation and improvement of ISO 14001 where OHS initiatives are required.
  10. Coordinate OHS induction sessions, training, safety campaigns, implementation, and communication for OHS awareness in the company.
  11. Organize and coordinate company OHS Committee and Emergency Response Team (ERT) and its annual program.
  12. Lead / co-lead and coordinate investigations on any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or occupational poisoning or disease which has happened in the workplace and verify the completion of corrective actions by relevant departments.
  13. Coordinate and assist OHS Committee in OHS audits, report findings, and follow-up with relevant departments to improve safety at the workplace.
  14. Coordinate and assist departments to conduct Risk Assessments at their workplace and advise on safety work procedures to be taken by line management.
  15. Member of global OHS Auditors Team.
  16. Perform all duties in full compliance with all laws, safety, and environmental regulations, and in a manner consistent with company policies and procedures.

Who you are

  • Diploma/Degree in any field with preference for registered Certified Safety Officer with DOSH/Safety and Health Officer Certificate from NIOSH.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in manufacturing / EMS environment.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 (amendments 2022) and ISO 14001 is essential.
  • Able to plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiar with MS Office, training delivery, with good command of English language.
