Detailed Job Description: Growth Manager (Remote Work)

Position Overview

The Growth Manager will be responsible for driving both organic and new-channel growth across our portfolio of pet food products. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in translating market insights into actionable growth tactics. You will manage cross-functional projects, ensuring we maximize market opportunities, innovate effectively, and meet ambitious sales targets.

Core Responsibilities

Growth Strategy & Execution:

  1. Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing research into market trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer behavior to identify new growth opportunities.
  2. Channel Development: Strategize and execute initiatives for e-commerce, retail, and trade channels.
  3. Product Positioning: Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing to refine messaging, packaging, and product line strategies for better market fit.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  1. Marketing Alignment: Work closely with the Brand, Performance Marketing, E-commerce, and Trade Marketing teams to develop integrated campaigns that drive acquisition and retention.
  2. New Product Development: Partner with the Product Manager and R&D to ensure that new product launches are set up for success with data-driven insights and clear go-to-market strategies.
  3. Sales Coordination: Liaise with sales teams to ensure consistent messaging and support for key retailers and distribution partners.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  1. KPIs & Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators such as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), conversion rates, and revenue growth.
  2. Business Intelligence: Work with the finance/analytics teams to generate dashboards that measure campaign performance, product sales, and overall ROI.
  3. Continuous Improvement: Use a test-and-learn approach to refine strategies, pivoting quickly based on data insights.

Growth Experiments & Innovation

  1. A/B Testing: Implement and manage growth experiments in digital marketing, pricing, packaging, and more to test hypotheses and quickly scale successful initiatives.
  2. Emerging Channels: Explore and propose new opportunities (e.g., subscription services, partnerships, international expansion) that align with the overall business strategy.
  3. Feedback Loop: Gather customer and stakeholder feedback to improve product-market fit and market penetration.

Leadership & Team Development

  1. Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior team members or cross-functional partners on growth best practices, data interpretation, and project management.
  2. Stakeholder Communication: Present findings, recommendations, and progress updates to executive leadership and relevant teams to secure buy-in and resources.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus.
  2. Professional Background: 5+ years of experience in a growth or business development role, preferably in the consumer goods sector. Exposure to or experience in the pet industry is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  3. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, BI dashboards, or similar), and a proven ability to interpret data to drive strategic decisions.
  4. Marketing Acumen: Familiarity with digital marketing channels (SEO, PPC, social, email), e-commerce platforms, and knowledge of brand-building fundamentals.
  5. Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; strong stakeholder management experience.
