Main missions:

Group PLANT LAYOUT Principal Engineer

The Group Technical Standard and Assurance has multiple responsibilities as follows:

  • Develop and maintain SBM technical knowledge through the issue of the Group Technical Standard and Group Technical Guideline
  • Ensure Technical Compliance with GTS and Technical Integrity of EPCI and Internal development Projects deliverables (attending key meetings and reviewing key deliverables)
  • Support the tendering activities by framing the proposals technical content (concept/framing overall plot plans, Weight control, high level assessment of bid package).
  • Support the development of SBM standard and future products.
  • Provide Group wide technical support on specific expertise and sensitive technical issues (from feasibility to decommissioning)
  • Support the development of SBM standard products whenever necessary.

To which you will contribute as follows:

  • You will report directly to the SBM Group Plan Layout Technical Authority.
  • You act as a group discipline expert and contribute to above activities, interacting with internal and external Stakeholders, keeping an eye on the innovative technology developed by vendors, promoting best practices and technical solutions.
  • With regards to the design verification plan, you attend key meetings such as Major projects design reviews, human factor ergonomics reviews, weight reviews, HAZID reviews, project audits both from Monaco and around the world as required and during the full Life Cycle of our products.
  • At Concept / Framing phase, you collaborate cross discipline and department so to provide overall layout[s] and weight estimation[s], till handover to pre-feed/feed phase.
  • Post-handover of the Concept / Framing to Project team, you are providing weight and layout data analytics.
  • You contribute to define and monitor KPI for plant layout discipline (including weight and bulk data from all disciplines) .
  • You collect and analyse fleet data including lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • You contribute to the development of the group technical standards and guidelines.
  • You provide layout expertise (when/as required) in the qualification of vendors and subcontractors, and in general to all company stakeholders and levels in SBM organization.

Job requirements

School/studies/degree:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent

Experience:

  • You typically have at least 10 years of experience in plant layout and piping design, material handling, human factor ergonomics engineering and design for Oil & Gas units with a strong background in topsides design. Mooring and Marine/Naval design background is a plus.
  • FLNG and Semi-Sub project and renewables project experience is a plus.
  • Has a solid track-record of EPCIO projects and understands the full life cycle of a unit.

  • You are fluent with AVEVA PDMS E3D design software
  • You are fluent with NAVISWORK design review and manage software
  • You are fluent with MS office [ word / excel / power point]
