Job summary

A leading company in Malaysia is seeking a Group Finance Manager responsible for preparing financial statements, managing audits, and coordinating budgeting processes. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting, at least 8 years of experience, and strong analytical skills. You'll oversee the finance team and ensure compliance with MFRS while providing strategic insights to senior management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of audit experience involving group consolidation.
• Strong technical knowledge of MFRS and group consolidation principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements in compliance with MFRS.
• Lead and mentor the finance team for timely month-end/year-end closing and reporting.
• Coordinate the external audit process for consolidated financial statements.

Job description

Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements, timely and accurately, in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), statutory and regulatory requirements.

Responsible for reconciliation of inter-company transactions, balances and eliminations, if any.

Prepare quarterly financial results and provide insightful commentary on financials for announcement to Bursa Malaysia.

Prepare and analyze the Group’s financials, including analytical review, for presentation to the senior management.

2. Budgeting and Control

Prepare the Group budget and forecast in collaboration with departments and subsidiaries.

3. Audit & Tax

Coordinate and manage the external audit process for consolidated financial statements.

Prepare financial statements of the group and the subsidiaries.

Coordinate the provisional tax computation for financial reporting as well as tax estimates.

Liaise with the external tax agent for tax-related matters, such as corporate tax, SST, and transfer pricing

Responsible forincome tax computations and deferred tax analysis.

Lead and mentor the finance team to ensure timely and accurate month-end/year-end closing and reporting.

5. Ad-hoc Assignments & Projects

Handle anyspecial projects and ad-hoc assignmentsas directed by the management, including system implementation, process improvement initiatives, and corporate exercises (e.g., acquisitions).

Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Accounting or other equivalent qualification.

A member of MIA

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years of audit experience involving group consolidation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

Strong technical knowledge of MFRSand group consolidation principles.

Strong organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Flexible and open to handling new responsibilities as needed.
