Job summary

A leading financial services group in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Assistant Manager for Group Corporate Finance & Investment Management. The role involves assisting the Regional Head with M&A, corporate transactions, and managing a portfolio of investments. Assistant Manager – Group Corp Finance & Investment Management

Job Purpose

Responsible to assist the Regional Head with the Group's M&A, corporate transactions and restructuring activities, as well as the Group’s portfolio of investments. GCFIM also works with other divisions within the Group on the Group’s capital raising and investment / divestment activities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support in the overseeing a portfolio of investee companies, including initiatives to optimise value
  • Assist in evaluating and pursuing M&A opportunities in line with the Group’s strategic objectives and aspirations
  • Provide support on all deal aspects on M&A and other corporate transactions including structuring, valuation and execution along the timelines required
  • Works with and assist in managing relationship with other internal divisions/departments and external parties including bankers, legal advisors, reporting accountants, tax advisors and regulators on transactions
  • Ensures responsible communication with stakeholders on transactions
  • Ensures transactions undertaken comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. BNM, Bursa Malaysia, MAS, OJK) as well as internal requirements e.g. CIMB Group’s Policies & Procedures and the Department’s Policies and Procedures
  • Any other responsibilities / tasks as assigned by management from time to time
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics)
  • 3-5 years of experience of relevant banking background in established bank/financial institution in corporate finance or investment management roles
  • Knowledge of corporate finance and investment management
  • Strong set of strategic and problem solving skill
  • Solid base of problem solving and financial analysis capability
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially in managing differing viewpoints and objectives of internal stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic and culture of excellent service
