Job Summary

The Group Accountant will oversee and manage the financial operations of the group of companies, ensuring sound financial planning, risk management, reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a highly skilled, detail-oriented professional to lead financial consolidation, analyze business performance, and provide critical insights to support executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Consolidate and manage group financial accounts.
  2. Review subsidiaries’ financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
  3. Ensure timely submission of monthly financial reports to the Board.
  4. Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and improvement areas.
  5. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  1. Monitor and track cash balances, payments, and short-term investments.
  2. Maintain oversight of bank accounts and ensure proper fund allocation.
  3. Send out automated debtor statements and oversee the monthly debt collection process.

Tax Planning & Optimization

  1. Optimize tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  2. Ensure timely submission of e-invoices and service tax reports.

Cost & Management Accounting

  1. Control and minimize costs while optimizing revenue-to-cost ratios.
  2. Support planning, cost control, and decision-making processes.

Performance Monitoring & Budgeting

  1. Develop and track KPI reports for financial performance monitoring.
  2. Prepare and manage budget forecasts to align with strategic goals.

Compliance & Internal Controls

  1. Ensure adherence to financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.
  2. Strengthen internal controls for accurate financial reporting.

Stakeholder Management

  1. Collaborate with internal teams for financial data gathering and analysis.
  2. Present financial insights and recommendations to the board and team leaders.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (recognized by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants).
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTIM, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax, accounting, and/or auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations, tax laws, and MFRS.
  • Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and business analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work closely with team leaders and directly report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
