Job summary

AMD is seeking engineers for the RTG UMC Firmware team in Penang to deliver memory controller firmware for AI, ML, HPC, and graphics accelerators. You will collaborate with RTL, DV, emulation, platform, and software teams to ensure IP features are enabled from design to silicon.

The role requires Verilog proficiency, software development skills, and internship experience in semiconductors or computing. A Bachelor degree in one of the listed majors is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in relevant field and major as listed.
• Verilog knowledge and software programming skills are required.
• Experience or internship in semiconductor or computing sector is preferred.
• Familiarity with either x86/ARM/MIPS architecture or ASIC design flow is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop UMC firmware as part of IP design and IP development flow, including IP simulation and emulation.
• Own UMC IP features enablement in both simulation and silicon.
• Debug UMC IP issues in simulation/emulation/silicon and drive them to closure.

THE ROLE:

AMD RTG UMC Firmware team is part of RTG IP design team, and be responsible to deliver memory controller firmware, for products of Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, Supercomputing, and Graphic accelerator card in data center. You will work with RTL design and DV team, emulation teams, platform teams, and software teams.

THE PERSON:

Has good computing knowledge or. Has good communication and debug skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop UMC firmware as part of IP design, based IP development flow, including IP simulation and emulation environment.
• Own UMC IP features enablement in both simulation and silicon
• Debug UMC IP issues found in simulation/emulation/silicon, and drive them to closure

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

• Verilog language
• Software programming skills
• Internship experience at semi-conductor or computing related company
• Good knowledge on 1 out of below
  • Computing, like 1 out of x86/ARM/MIPS architecture
  • ASIC design flow
